15 Years at Shrewsbury Culminates in Exceptional Exam Results for Dow

Wasinee (Dow) Siriboonlamom first walked through the gates of Shrewsbury International School Bangkok, Riverside at the tender age of three and following her A Level exam results, which showed a perfect set of four A* grades, exited them for the last time as a student 15 years later. Dow now embarks on a new journey at University College London (UCL), where she will study Human Sciences - a fantastic achievement, among many for the class of 2021.

In her final year, Dow held the role of Head Student - an honour bestowed upon her for many years of commitment, participation, and a drive to succeed inside and outside the classroom. Although her final results were no surprise to many, Dow insists it wasn't always easy.

"I am so thankful for the support and encouragement I have received throughout my time at the school. Without this rock-solid foundation, it would not be possible for me to achieve my dream, and I'm very excited to embark on this new journey at UCL in September," Dow enthused.

An exemplary member of the school community, Dow made sure she gave everything a go. Whether it be outreach and community work to pushing herself on the sports field - nothing was off-limits. It is this attitude that Shrewsbury students are well-known for and part of the reason why the results and university destinations are the highest in Thailand.

86% of the 121-strong graduating class of 2021 achieved A-Level grades of A* or A, so Dow is not alone in sharing her triumph. With 15 years of her life spent at Shrewsbury, Dow says she is proud to be a lifelong member of the school community and is ready to represent the school at UCL and beyond. Dow scored A*'s across the board in Biology, Geography, History and Maths, and credits the work of the Higher Education (H.E) Team and her subject teachers in pushing her to find her passion and pursue it with a laser-like focus.

"The school has helped me gain the confidence to choose a course I know that I'll really enjoy, one that will open many possible career paths for me to explore.  Shrewsbury has so many inspiring faculty members, who believed in my ability - their devotion to their craft instilled a passion that I will carry forward in the years to come," she assured.

Shrewsbury congratulates Dow on a wonderful school career and is looking forward to seeing her channel her talents and endless positivity into further success in her new environment.
