The School’s Parents Association, Shrewsbury Parents (SP), works to ensure that Parent body plays an active and informed role in the operation of the school and in life of the Shrewsbury community.

What do we do?

Event Organisation, Support & Sponsorship

All our events are self-organised and funded predominantly from SP funds. In addition, student groups and school departments from both the Junior School and Senior School can request sponsorship and funding. In recent years, we have supported Drama and Music activities as well as sports groups and merchandise.

SP support events that are hosted by the school with parent volunteers as well as food stands when viable.

Regular Community Activities

Snack sales: Each year group from Year 1 to Year 6 sponsors a snack sale. All products are donated by parents. The profits from these snack sales are used to fund community events and activities around school.

Pumpkin Party: An afternoon of fun for children in Year 1 and Year 2 who can dress up, play games and enjoy tasty treats.

School Decorations: We decorate the school for a range of cultural events including Songkran, Christmas, Diwali and Chinese New Year.

Movie Night: There are different movie nights during the year for different age groups. Students are invited to vote for their movie, watch it and then enjoy food and dancing!

How do we do it?

Our elected committee meets once a month and sub-groups are formed to manage the different activities.

Each sub-group consists of a coordinator (normally a member of the committee) and volunteers sourced through our class representatives. Volunteers can offer as much or as little help as they can manage.
