Shrewsbury International School operates its own school bus service, providing a safe and convenient transport option between home and school. Use of the bus service is invoiced on a termly basis, and charged according to the area/zone of pick up.

The School Bus service is available for students starting in Year 1 to Year 13. Early Years Students must be dropped off and picked up from school by an adult.

The buses are provided and operated by Montri, a reputable company with more than 40 years’ experience.

Students are transported in minibuses with seatbelts compulsory for all passengers. In addition to the driver, Montri also employ a bus monitor on each bus who are responsible for ensuring that all the children are well behaved throughout the journey and who will accompany younger students into site upon arrival at school.

Each bus is equipped with the following:

• Air-conditioning
• Fire extinguisher
• Communication System i.e. mobile phone
• Adjustable lap belt for every seat

Each bus operates a GPS tracking system with RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) student cards. These cards are tapped on a reader as the students get on and off the bus, logging the date and time of boarding and egress. Parents can choose to receive this information by email or SMS.

Bus Routes

Our current bus routes cover a large area of Bangkok including Rama 3, Narathiwas-Rajanakarin, Sathorn, Silom and Sukhumvit.

Shrewsbury International School is located around 1.5km south of Sathorn Pier, Bangkok’s connection hub for passenger boat services, and an interchange point for the BTS Skytrain System (Saphan Taksin Station).

A shuttle boat service, operated by the Chatrium Riverside Hotel, provides a free connection between Sathorn pier and the school and may be used by all Shrewsbury families, staff and visitors. The boat operates every 15 minutes at peak times, and every 20 or 30 minutes in the middle of the day and in the evening. For the full schedule, please click the link below.

BOAT TIMETABLE

Around one quarter of Shrewsbury students arrive at school by boat every day, and it is a fantastic facility for more Senior students who travel independently.

Life Jackets

All students, staff and parents using the boat during core operating hours are expected to wear a life jacket whilst on the boat. Students who normally travel by the shuttle boat are required have their own life jacket marked with their own name, as part of the school uniform. The school shop stocks inflatable life jackets, which are lightweight and portable. The School Shop will also stock replacement inflation canisters (which can be used once only) and cartridge firing mechanisms (which should be replaced according to the expiry date printed on the firing cartridge).
