HIGHER EDUCATION SUPPORT
Equipped with consistently impressive A-level results, nearly all Shrewsbury students choose to continue into Higher Education at prestigious universities and colleges around the world.
Our team of six Higher Education advisers and two administrative staff, including specialists in UK US and Thai universities, is committed to ensuring that Shrewsbury students are supported throughout their journey towards university study.
Through Learning for Life Curriculum, we begin to prepare students from Year 10 onwards for life beyond Shrewsbury, in Higher Education and careers of the future.
Students in years 12 and 13 receive holistic support in the lead up to their university applications and public examinations. Students are able to schedule 1:1 appointments at any point in the academic year, in order to further develop their thoughts and planning for university applications.

Our focus is to ensure that all students have the information and advice they need to make choices that are right for them, taking into consideration both their academic and personal profiles, and that the applications our students submit are of the very highest quality.
We value the role that parents have to play in supporting their children’s university ambitions, and schedule regular presentation and seminars to ensure that they understand the options and requirements involved in the university application process.

UNIVERSITY VISITS AND PRESENTATIONS
Our advisers take part in regular study visits to UK, US and other world universities and colleges, meeting with both admissions advisers and Shrewsbury alumni. These visits help our advisors to gather important information and feedback on the application process, and real life experience of studying at different universities.
Over the years, we have built effective relationships with hundreds of institutions worldwide, and which have proved extremely useful for students wanting to know more about their study options.
Every year we welcome Higher Education institutions from across the World to meet with our students in the Sixth Form centre. These visits provide an important opportunity for our students to make direct connections, and access specific information and advice from some of the world’s leading institutions relating to their admissions requirements, the courses they offer, their facilities, and what successful applicants could expect from their time at university.
Visits are received throughout the academic year, our preferred timing being
either 12:00-12:40 or 14:45 - 15:30 for universities to present to our students.

Shrewsbury has a proud legacy of instilling a spirit of academic curiosity and ambition amongst our students, and preparing them to further their education at the world's leading universities and colleges, including Oxford, Cambridge, Princeton, Stanford, Yale and Harvard.
Whilst UK and US Universities and Colleges are the most popular destinations for our students, since 2004 our students have actually taken up.
Whilst our team of expert Higher Education Advisers, which includes specialisms in US, UK and Thai universities, draw on their wealth of experience to help our current students to select and apply to the institutions that best meet their needs and ambitions, irrespective of destination. Recent choices have included institutions in the Netherlands, Japan, China, Switzerland, Ireland, Australia, Italy, Canada and Hong Kong.
