Sport
In common with Shrewsbury School in the UK, we are serious about sport. Boys and girls of every age and ability can discover and develop their sporting passions in a variety of team games and individual disciplines such as Gymnastics, Swimming, Tennis, Golf, Basketball, Football, Volleyball, Rugby and Water polo.
Our distinguished coaches support and guide students towards participation in top-level competition against other schools in Bangkok and across the South-East Asia region.
We are firm in our belief that sport for all should be a part of school life and is crucial in the development of personal qualities. As a community we share a commitment to exercise and healthy eating. Some students will wish to push themselves to achieve team selection in one of the Excellence Programmes; others will simply enjoy the fun of being part of Sports Day, the Fun Run and the Swim Galas.
Shrewsbury Sports Portal
The school has a dedicated sports portal, which provides up to date information on all training schedules, fixtures, team selections, results, and match reports.

Training Schedule
The competitive sports programme runs in addition and parallel to “You-Time!” activities. It is staffed by teachers and coaches and is coordinated by the Director of Sport and Activities. Students, if selected to represent the school, are required to demonstrate commitment, dedication and sportsmanship throughout the season.
Team Selection
Team selection is carried out in accordance with our selection policy. All student athletes must attend try-outs in order to be selected for the seasonal team. For the sake of equal opportunities and transparency of policy there can be no exceptions.
If a student is absent, or is injured at the time of try-outs, his/her parents must contact the Sport and Activities Office to arrange a suitable alternative time.
Programmes and Competition
The main regular competition for our sports teams is against local international schools who are members of BISAC (Bangkok International Schools’ Athletic Conference). The BISAC schedule includes weekly matches followed by end-of-season tournament in most sports.
There are 3 BISAC seasons in each academic year (each approximately 8 weeks in length) for 5 age groups. Following completion of season 3, a fourth 'pre-season' period runs throughout May and June, during which teams are selected and commence training ahead of the next academic year.
The School is also part of FOBISIA (Federation of British Schools in Asia), giving opportunities for our selected young athletes the opportunity to represent the school against competition from throughout the region, both at home and away.
