The Shrewsbury Family Golf Day took place on Sunday 1st December 2019 at the beautiful Suwan Golf and Country Club.

Twenty eight pairs, including parents, students and teachers, teed off in glorious sunshine for 18 holes of Texas scramble golf; a format which always delivers lots of fun and requires strong collaboration and teamwork from each pair. And as the score cards started to turn in, it was clear that there was some high quality golf on show too, with over half teams achieving sub-par net scores and several players ‘beating the pro’ on the par 3 16th. However, with a quite incredible round of 11 under, it was Montri and Phoom that took the championship title this year, awarded by Principal, Chris Seal at the post round buffet and prize giving ceremony.

This year’s event was organised in partnership with Shrewsbury’s Charity Committee to help raise money for the fantastic causes that our community supports. The dinner proved an opportune moment for Mr Seal to thank the players and their supporters, whose generosity helped to raise over 70,000 thb for our charity partners; the biggest result of the day!

Thank you to Fredrik Edmunds of Golf Development Asia for ensuring a great experience for all involved, especially given how busy he is at the moment preparing for the upcoming Faldo Series Golf event. We hope, that this too will yield further success for the Shrewsbury’s golf team.
