TERM 1 REVIEW 2019-20

CHRISTMAS AT SHREWSBURY

As Christmas approached, the Shrewsbury community enjoyed a series of activities that brought real sparkle to the end of a very busy term.

Music played a typically central part to proceedings, with no less than two Christmas concerts, an open air musical showcase, EY1 and EY2 signing under the Christmas tree, Year 5 Christmas songs in the Memorial Hall, various musical activities in the classrooms, and two trips for our choral groups to the British Club and Australian Embassy, helping the wider Bangkok community to enjoy their Christmas celebrations.

There were plenty of reminders too that Christmas is a time for giving, and for considering those less fortunate than ourselves. The Christmas Charity wish lists saw families and staff donate hundreds of much needed items for our charity partners, a special Christmas party in the EY garden (complete with an appearance from Santa Claus) brought smiles to the faces of the children from the Good Shepherd Foundation (Sister Louise), whilst a range of beautifully Christmas cards designed by students across the school proved particularly popular, raising plenty more money for the charity fund.

Within the school itself our Junior Heads of School and Music and Sports Captains also took the time to thank the many members of support staff that help our school run so well everyday; from the guards at the gates to the cooks in the kitchens. They all received some yummy sweet treats as a token of our appreciation for the work they do, day in, day out.

On behalf of our charity partners and entire school community, thank you for your generosity, and a very merry Christmas to you!
