In Term 3, sixty Year 9 language students visited Bangkok’s Chinatown to immerse themselves in Mandarin language and culture, with students visiting traditional clinics, temples and restaurants.

They used their Mandarin language skills to learn about Chinese medicine at a traditional clinic, tasting the herbs and learning about their health benefits.  They also visited a temple to offer prayers, discovering the difference between Chinese and Thai temples.

Traditional Chinese cuisine was on the menu too, with the chance to taste Peking Duck and even make their own dumplings!

Miss Yu who led the trip said, “The children loved the opportunity to experience true Chinese culture, they are such wonderful, enthusiastic learners”.
