TERM 2 REVIEW 2018-19

CHARITY AND SERVICE IN TERM 2

5 Apr 2019

Throughout Term 2, the Shrewsbury Community has demonstrated their generousity and committment to service in a number of extraordinary ways.

The children from Sister Louise continued their weekly English and swimming lessons with Senior students here at Riverside. Students and staff lent their time and skills to a ranges of projects outside of school too, ranging from the re-painting of the wall mural at the nearby Thai-Muslim school, to the building of a whole house in Ayutthaya for our "Habitats for Humanity"  charity partner.

Another group of volunteers enjoyed making new friends on the Rotary Club's "Kids Day Out", giving disabled children a chance to experience fun and play by the seaside, while others volunteered to work through the night as event staff on the Operation Smile "Vertical Miles for Smiles" race.

Fundraising week and the annual Charity Fairs not only raised a huge amount of money but also saw involvement and lots of creative fundraising ideas from across the whole community, as of course, did the hugely well supported Fun Run.

On behalf of all of our charity partners, a huge thank you to you all.
