Governor's Visit Celebrates Creativity and Community at Shrewsbury International School Bangkok, Riverside.

Our Governors, Sarah Canning-Jones, Carla Howarth, John Clark, Gráinne Walters, Dr Jirayuth Mahattanakul and Dr Parita Suaphan, recently visited Shrewsbury International School Bangkok, Riverside, who had the opportunity to engage with students and participate in several key events.

The visit began with the governors observing a "Reading the World" class, where Sixth Form students delved into a thought-provoking discussion. This interactive session provided a window into the school's commitment to fostering critical thinking and intellectual exchange. Following the class, the governors engaged in a lively discussion with the students, where diverse viewpoints were shared and enriching dialogue ensued.

The focus on student engagement continued at the school's Art Gala & Auction, a vibrant celebration held in honour of Shrewsbury's 20th anniversary. This event showcased the remarkable creativity and artistic talent of the student body. The governors were thoroughly impressed by the diverse range of artwork on display, a testament to the school's dedication to nurturing self-expression and exploration.

Further exemplifying the school's commitment to community service, the Art Gala & Auction was a fundraising event for the school's long-standing charity partners. All proceeds from the auction went towards supporting these worthy causes, a testament to the school's deep-rooted commitment to social responsibility. 

The board of governors also actively participated in the auction, enthusiastically bidding and winning several art pieces. These art pieces, imbued with the spirit of the school community, will undoubtedly serve as cherished reminders of their visit.
