NEW YORK BECKONS FOR SHREWSBURY MUSICAL WINNERS

Congratulations to students Alice and Punn, who both received first prize wins at the recent ‘Golden Classical Music Awards 2022’, hosted in New York.

Alice, in Year 7, won for her superb flute performance in the Junior Category, whilst Year 13 student Punn represented Shrewsbury in the Advanced Category, playing the Ranat Ek (a traditional Thai percussion instrument).

Both students are a shining example of the diversity of musical talent at the school and a fabulous illustration of musical expertise on the global stage, representing both Shrewsbury International School and Thailand.

The ‘Golden Classical Music Awards’ is an International Competition open to all nationalities and ages. It is a prestigious competition and winners have the potential to become musical masters in their field.

Not only did Alice and Punn win first prizes in their categories, but both have subsequently been invited to perform at Carnegie Hall in New York, USA.

A huge congratulations to both!
