TERM 2 REVIEW 2020-21

LIGHTS, CAMERA...ACTION!

Roll up...roll up! See our Shrewsbury Stars!

Year 3 students took to the stage for their dramatic performance of Shakespeare’s ‘The Tempest’, a Director's cut today.
The play marked the end of a 3 week English literacy module, which saw students practice their speaking and listening skills while learning about historic English playwright William Shakespeare.

Students were fully immersed in Shakespeare’s world and allowed their natural creativity to shine as they reinterpreted and translated historic texts in a contemporary and memorable performance. We even recreated a true theatrical and VIP experience with theatre tickets, special VIP security and an audience of students and teachers.

English literature forms a core part of the curriculum at City Campus and we’re excited to see our students’ imagination in action as they lift text from paper using their amazing acting skills. Acting helps our students gain self confidence, improve their public speaking skills, helps build compassion and introduces children to many different backgrounds and stories.

We love to inspire our students with many worlds and lots of ideas - both modern and historical and our students have a lot of fun in the process too!
