Medical Centre

Shrewsbury International School City Campus has an on-site Medical Centre which is open at all times during school hours.

The Medical Centre is staffed by three fully-qualified English-speaking nurses who respond to minor injuries and can help secure emergency hospital treatment when necessary.

First Aid

The school has a full complement of first aiders and first aid kits so that minor injuries can be treated immediately.

Medical Emergency Response

Major medical emergencies receive an immediate response. Nursing cover is provided throughout the school day, during overnight school trips and at events hosted at the school at weekends.

In the event of a medical emergency, parents will be contacted first. However, at enrolment and throughout the year, parents must identify an additional emergency contact person for each child, and provide their contact information.

Medical History Cards

When you enroll your child at school, you will be asked to fill out a medical information form.

It is very important that the information provided on this form is accurate, complete, and up-to-date (particularly phone numbers and email addresses) in case there is a serious illness or accident.

It is especially important to include information about any medical problems such as asthma, allergies or diabetes.

Parents are asked to confirm and update all medical information before educational visits and residential trips. Please also remember to inform the school of any changes to your own and your emergency contact’s home and mobile phone numbers, so that these updates are passed on to the nurses.
