SHREWSBURY SCHOOL (UK)
Shrewsbury School in the UK (SSUK) was founded by Royal Charter in 1552. Over the centuries, it has grown in size and reputation and is now ranked amongst the leading co-educational boarding schools in the United Kingdom educating some 800 pupils aged 13-18 years.
Situated in a stunning 100+ acre site on the banks of the River Severn, Shrewsbury School is committed to strong academic standards with a vision of holistic education, as demonstrated through an incredible range of different activities, sports and societies; programmes that are supported by world class facilities.
Shrewsbury is a school of great breadth and also of high achievement, underlined by an impressive Oxbridge entry record (averaging around 15 places a year), regular and critically acclaimed concert and dramatic performances in London and Edinburgh, and impressive results for the School's sporting teams at both national and international level.
PACKWOOD HAUGH
Packwood Haugh Preparatory School joined the Shrewsbury family in 2019. Spread over 60 acres, it offers a nurturing and ambitious environment for boys and girls from 4 - 13 years. A range of flexible boarding options allow students to make the most of an outstanding collection of facilities.
Shrewsbury International Asia (SIA)
In 2003, SSUK opened its first international sister school in Bangkok. Bangkok Riverside has since established itself as one of the finest and most successful schools in the region. Its academic standards, performing arts and music programme and university placements to the UK, the US and around the world are of the highest distinction.
The Shrewsbury success story has been supported by ever strengthening links with the UK sister school which has in turn led to ambitious plans to expand to other areas in Asia.
The development and management company, Shrewsbury International (Asia) has been established to oversee the creation and management of a group of schools. In August 2018, the group opened two new specialist Primary Schools in Hong Kong (in Tseung Kwan O district) and Bangkok (City Campus). Students graduating from City Campus are guaranteed continuation to Senior School education at Riverside. This transition is supported by an extensive investment and redevelopment programme at Riverside.
The Shrewsbury International Schools rest on two pillars: The tradition and heritage of Shrewsbury School in the UK and the financial strength and investment of the Sophonpanich family in Thailand who founded, own and run Bangkok Bank.

How are we linked?
The expansion of SIA presents an exciting opportunity to develop further the intellectual and cultural partnerships with SSUK and between other schools in the group. Across the group, The Shrewsbury Family shares experience and best practice, and benefits from shared governance of the highest international standards. Colleagues formerly based at Shrewsbury Riverside are now involved in establishing the new schools at Bangkok City Campus and Hong Kong bringing a deep understanding of "The Shrewsbury Way" to these latest additions to the group.
As the group matures, the schools will benefit from the other types of associations that have been enjoyed by Riverside campus for many years. Since 2003, a number of SSUK graduates have come to Bangkok to enjoy Gap Year placements and internships, gaining valuable workplace experience in a range of areas across the Junior and Senior Schools. A number of SSUK alumni and teachers have also gone on to work as full time-employees at Shrewsbury Bangkok, whilst others visit Bangkok on a regular basis to collaborate in musical and other creative productions such as the ever-popular Last Night of the Proms concert.
