TERM 1 REVIEW 2020-21
OUT OF THIS WORLD
As part of their topic on Space, 5AK showcased their learning in a special assembly, sharing with students, parents and staff what they had been studied this half term.
During the assembly, the audience was told that the mischievous Bear Nobel, the school's house mascot had gone off to explore the galaxy. Year 5 took it upon themselves to travel to space and find him.
The watching auditorium helped our fearless astronauts to answer a series of clues, to track down Bear Nobel's whereabouts in our solar system.
5AK also told us more about Katherine Johnson and Mary Jackson, two female figures who played a key part in shaping the history of NASA and it's space missions.
After a series of daring exploits through planets, comets and stars, Bear Nobel was found and was safely returned to Earth.
At Shrewsbury, we teach a topic-based curriculum to give intrigue and meaning to all subjects that the children study. Our teachers use real-life contexts to bring learning to life.
