LIBRARY NEWS - TERM 1 2020/21

Welcome to the Library's termly update! We are pleased to report that the celebration of books and reading is as strong as ever at City Campus. It is our pleasure to share some highlights from the year so far: 

CLICK AND COLLECT
In September the Library was excited to return to school and continue to offer reading with the Library’s ‘Click and Collect’ service. Over 400 books were loaned to parents alone each week. It was fantastic to see that our City Campus families were keen to keep reading alive at home, while access to the Library itself was limited for safety. 

BOOK FAIR
The Library was delighted at the positive responses we received following our Book & Board Games fair. It was wonderful to give our children another avenue to enjoy reading and playing games, with a particular focus on reducing screen time. We hope our City Campus families enjoy these books and games during the coming holidays.

SORA E-BOOKS & AUDIO BOOKS
This term, the Library was pleased to announce the launch of Sora by Overdrive. Parents were invited to information sessions to learn how to navigate this platform. Students have also been using Sora to search for their favourite books independently. If your child is using a device during the Christmas holidays, why not listen to a story on a road trip or read an eBook by the pool? Parents, please refer to your child’s Communication Book for Sora log-in details.

CHARITY CHRISTMAS BOOK DROP
Thank you to students and parents who donated books to the Preloved Christmas book drop. These books will be used by Second Chance Bangkok in their kindergarten and community activity centre. Not only will these books be recycled and promote the school’s environmental goals, but will be much appreciated by the children and parents of the Second Chance Bangkok community.

COMING UP IN TERM 2
Fully Booked Book Week is always a highlight in the Library's annual calendar. This year, we will be celebrating Book Week from 1st-5th March 2021, following the theme of 'Read Around the World'. More information to follow in the new year. 

HOLIDAY OPENING HOURS
We are pleased to announce that the Library will be open for borrowing during the Christmas holidays on the following dates:

· Wednesday 23rd December 2020 9:00AM-2:00PM

· Wednesday 6th January 2021 9:00AM-2:00PM

If you would like to borrow some books for your children to enjoy during this festive season, please come and visit us in the holidays on the above dates. In the meantime, the Library team wishes you a very merry Christmas!
