TERM 1 REVIEW 2020-21

HERCULEAN EFFORTS

This term, Year 5 students have been studying Greek literature, the history of Ancient Greece, and much more.

As part of their immersion in this fascinating culture, the children sculpted and painted Greek-inspired pots, they excavated a selection of Greek artefacts, and they competed in their very own Olympics on the sports field.

A key project within Year 5's topic this term was their written pieces inspired by the curiosity-themed Greek myth, Pandora's Box. Students were tasked with writing their own version of the ancient myth, by empathising with the characters and choosing their own outcome to the story.

At Shrewsbury, we teach a topic-based curriculum to give intrigue and meaning to all subjects that the children study. Our teachers use real-life contexts to bring learning to life.
