FOOD, GLORIOUS FOOD!

Apple pie was on the menu, as children were introduced to their Literacy topic on all things food.

The children took excellent responsibility for their safety and hygiene, as they weighed their ingredients, sliced their apples and assembled their pies. 

Exploring different foods and following recipes offers children an introduction to many literacy skills including descriptive language, writing instructions and verbal reasoning.

At Shrewsbury, we teach a topic-based curriculum to give intrigue and meaning to all subjects that the children study. Our teachers use real-life contexts to bring learning to life.
