TERM 2 REVIEW 2019-20

MAKING MERIT FOR 2020

As a fitting start to the first school day of 2020, City Campus invited it’s entire school community to present gifts and supplies to our local monks from Wat Phraram 9 Kanchanapisek.

This practice is known as ‘merit-making’, a Buddhist tradition that teaches us to be kind, give to others and invite blessing into important milestones such a new year.

Among it’s guests, City Campus was delighted to welcome the Venerable Robert Apirojano, who spoke to students about the importance of doing good, combatting greed, and appreciating the gifts around us, especially our parents and teachers.

To close the ceremony in the school’s auditorium, the monks performed nammon, a traditional water blessing.

The merit-making event is part of the school’s Thai Studies programme, designed to give students a meaningful insight and immersion into Thai culture.
