WHEN IN ROME

Year 3 students from City Campus and Riverside joined in their houses to compete in a very Roman sports day.

As part of the school’s topic-based curriculum, the sporting event saw children take part in activities inspired by Ancient Rome, including child-friendly equivalents of chariot racing, human aqueducts, spear throws and more. 

The aim of the event was participation, cross-campus collaboration and a chance for parents to see their children in sporting action. 

Ms Buehler, the school’s Head of PE and Swimming summarised: ““Creating topic-based sports days gives our students the opportunity to truly cement their learning and put it into action. It was fantastic to see City Campus and Riverside pupils working together in their houses...sport gives us a fantastic opportunity to continue to strength our links across our two campuses.”
