PARENTS PARTNER IN PHONICS

Parents were invited to a special showcase of phonics and reading in the school’s Early Years Hub. Children were delighted to show their families

At Shrewsbury, we offer plenty of opportunities and advice to help parents engage with their children’s learning. Reading at home is particularly encouraged to develop important literacy skills, as well as providing quality bonding time for families.

Teachers from our Early Years team also led an information forum for parents called ‘A Love of Reading’. Team leader Ms Elysia Madge and teacher Ms Laura Charlwood explained City Campus supports students on their journey to becoming a fluent reader. Parents were also given top tips on how they can support their children with their reading at home.
