CELEBRATING LOY KRATHONG

Every year at Shrewsbury, our international community celebrates the Thai festival of Loy Krathong. Children, parents and staff alike take great care in selecting their favourite styles and colours for their traditional Thai costumes.

The entire City Campus community was invited to a special celebration, organised by the school’s Thai Studies department. The event was opened by Kru Pen, who led the auditorium in the Thai national anthem on the khim

Our children went on to perform some beautiful Thai dances, including the ever-popular serng krapo (coconut dance) with natural coconut shells.

The sustainability theme continued as Year 6 presented their eco-friendly krathongs to a packed auditorium. The student’s designs were beautifully intricate, and banana leaves came highly recommended as a key piece of material for their offerings.

Parents were pleased to enjoy some fantastic performances by students from Years 1-6. In her Principal’s Blog, Ms Dennison summarised, “I was extremely proud of our children’s professionalism and style on stage.”

Shrewsbury City Campus is currently accepting applications. For more information, please contact our Admissions team on 02 203 1222 or admissions-city@shrewsbury.ac.th.
