TERM 1 REVIEW 2019-20

ALADDIN COMES TO AUDITORIUM

Armed with their tickets and high expectations, parents and guests piled into the auditorium at City Campus to enjoy the two showings of this year’s Christmas production, ‘Aladdin Trouble’.

The show followed the adventures of ‘a-lad-in-trouble’, with original musical performance based on the classic Arabian fantasy. From start to finish, it did not disappoint, and parents were shown what a truly talented cohort of children they have.

From moving performances as Jasmine wished for freedom to explore life’s opportunities, to the wicked Abanazar showing his softer sider, the audience was entertained from beginning to end.

Spontaneous applause broke out as Ms Dennison (Principal) and Ms Betts (Vice Principal) strolled onto stage to visit Widow Twankey’s laundrette and ask for an update on their washing.

Year 1 and Year 2 provided fantastic supporting voices throughout the production’s medley of original showpieces. The songs were still being sung by parents as they filed out to congratulate their children at the end of the show.

Our students took to their characters extremely well, and the Principal commented on the strong sense of confidence and showmanship throughout both performances of the production.

One parent shared, “It was fantastic to see all children having the opportunity to perform on stage. The songs had been beautifully arranged to suit each age range. We can’t wait to enjoy the next show!”
