City Campus celebrates its founding cohort of Year 6 graduates.

City Campus hosted its first graduation ceremony for the founding Year 6 Class of 2019-20.

It has been a memorable Term 3 for Year 6, not least because they have been preparing to graduate from City Campus and take up their guaranteed places at Shrewsbury Riverside.

The transition preparations have been ongoing since City Campus began, through various cross-campus visits and activities to get students ready for their move to Senior School at Riverside.

During the graduation ceremony itself, Ms Dennison (Principal) opened the event by celebrating the uniqueness of our Year 6 students.

The students then took to the stage to share their self-composed "Still I Rise" poems, inspired by the piece originally penned by poet Maya Angelou. The children each shared what lifts them up, and how they will be channelling this inspiration in their futures ahead.

During the prize-giving itself, Mrs Hill (Year 6 Teacher) invited each student onto the stage once again, to share her memories of each graduate, and what she had seen that makes them shine.

Children were presented with a book which had been individually selected for them, a graduation certificate and a personalised starfish trophy marking the City Campus symbol of kindness.

Ms Dennison also extended a thank you to Mrs Hill and Ms C (Class TA) for the hard work and dedication they have shown in giving Year 6 students a successful learning journey at City Campus.
