THE RACE IS ON

Students compete in inter-house cross country.

Children from Years 1-6 set the finish line in their sights as they competed for their House in the school’s inter-house cross country competition.

The course was set around the trees, the school buildings, the playgroup and the sports field, and students were asked to race a certain amount of laps depending on their age group. Key Stage 2 were also given the option to run an extra lap for double house points.

The children navigated several surfaces underfoot during their race, including the soft flooring in the outdoor playground, the concrete paths between buildings, and the natural turf pitch at the top of the campus.

Parents were out in full force, supportive as ever of the school’s events, and many cheers were heard as they spurred on our competitors. On this occasion, points were based on time rather than place, to enable all racing children to win points for their House.

Congratulations were in order for Schweitzer, who crowned themselves as the winning house on the day.
