Shrewsbury Bangkok Riverside recently hosted an Early Years talk titled The Power of Connection: Why Talk Matters More Than Ever, welcoming our Early Years parent community. The event reflected Shrewsbury Bangkok’s One School, Two Campuses philosophy, ensuring a shared vision, aligned practice, and a consistent approach to Early Years education across both campuses.

Supporting Children Through Connection and Communication
Led by Jade Sharman, Assistant Principal for Early Years at Shrewsbury International School Bangkok Riverside, and Cath Okill, Assistant Principal for Early Years and Key Stage 1 at Shrewsbury International School Bangkok City Campus, the talk explored how simple, everyday conversations help build trust, emotional security, and strong language foundations in young children. Parents gained valuable insight into how meaningful talk supports learning, wellbeing, and confidence throughout the Early Years.

Connection Through Everyday Moments
The session highlighted that meaningful communication happens in everyday moments through play, routines, and shared conversations at home. Parents were encouraged to see talk as more than just language development, recognising its vital role in supporting emotional wellbeing, confidence, and positive relationships. Responsive listening and interaction were emphasised as key elements in helping young children feel valued, understood, and ready to learn.

Leading Early Years Education in Bangkok
Through cross-campus collaboration and parent education events, Shrewsbury Bangkok continues to lead the way in Early Years education, working in partnership with families to support confident, connected learners from the very beginning.
