Happy Mid-Autumn Festival from HQP!
Hanqing Bilingual Pathway SHC StoryOur HQP students would like to wish the whole Shrewsbury community:
祝大家中秋快乐,阖家幸福!
Wishing everyone a joyful Mid-Autumn Festival and a happy family reunion!
The Mid-Autumn Festival 中秋节 (Zhōngqiū Jié) has been celebrated in China for centuries. Traditionally held when the moon is full and bright, it is a time for families to come together, share mooncakes, admire the moon and celebrate reunion, gratitude and togetherness. The full moon has long been a symbol of family connection, even when loved ones are far apart.
Chinese poets have also written about the moon for generations:
小时不识月,呼作白玉盘。
As a child, I did not know the moon,
and called it a plate of white jade.
Li Bai
A bright moon rises over the sea;
wherever we are, we share this moment together.
Zhang Jiuling
At HQP, culture is an important part of our bilingual curriculum. Children do not learn Chinese simply as a language; they experience it through stories, festivals, poetry, music, art, food and everyday traditions. Celebrations such as the Mid-Autumn Festival provide authentic opportunities for children to connect language with meaning and develop curiosity and respect for different cultures.
Through these experiences, we hope our children grow not only as confident bilingual learners, but also as culturally aware global citizens.

From all our HQP students and teachers:
但愿人长久,千里共婵娟。
May we all be blessed with longevity; though miles apart, we share the beauty of the same moon.
Happy Mid-Autumn Festival!
