You Decide…
SHC Article SHC Principle's Blog SHC Teacher“You decide…” — this simple phrase is proudly displayed on our Value of the Month posters around the school, highlighting Creativity value. It’s an open invitation for children to think independently, imagine freely, and create something entirely their own.
Creativity is vital for holistic development. It encourages innovative thinking, fuels problem-solving, and builds critical thinking — skills that will serve children for a lifetime.

This month, we’ve seen creativity come to life throughout the school. Fully Booked Week was a fantastic showcase of imagination, and class assemblies have also been a powerful display of student-led creativity. Additionally, our Science Fair highlighted creativity at its best, with students showcasing their hypotheses and experiments. I am very proud to see children take ownership of their learning and share it with the wider school community.

But, creativity isn’t just for children — it’s a vital skill for all of us. As adults, creativity helps us solve problems, adapt to new situations, and find joy in everyday moments. Whether we’re designing a lesson, planning a family trip, or tackling challenges at work, we too rely on imagination and innovative thinking. By modelling this creativity ourselves, we show children that it’s a lifelong strength — one that keeps us learning, growing, and thriving.

Our child-centred, inquiry-based curriculum supports this creativity every day — encouraging children to explore ideas, experiment without fear, and collaborate with others. At Shrewsbury International School Bangkok City Campus, we’re committed to creating environments that spark curiosity and empower children to express their unique perspectives.

Let’s celebrate creativity and remind our students (and ourselves!) that our ideas matter and that we all have the power to imagine and shape the world around us.
