With Love
Our Spotlight SHC Principle's Blog SHC TeacherJune is recognised globally as Pride Month — a time to celebrate diversity and inclusion, and to honour the fact that we are all unique individuals. At Shrewsbury International School Bangkok City Campus, we embrace these values too. For us, June is the Month of Love.

This year, our Speech Day welcomed a very special guest: Ms Dolores Cogliano, a passionate advocate for diversity and inclusion, who joined us all the way from New York City. In her inspiring speech, she shared her personal journey of overcoming rejection and finding strength in her differences. Her message was clear: being different isn’t something to hide; it’s something to embrace.

During our Diversity, Equality, Inclusion and Justice (DEIJ) Week, children took part in meaningful learning together. Older students read inclusive stories with younger peers, helping them understand the value of respect for all. Our children also explored neurodiversity through workshops — learning how different brains work in different, brilliant ways.

The DEIJ assembly was a vibrant celebration of cultural diversity. With traditional Thai and Chinese dances, students explored how different cultures bring colour and connection to our community. The whole school also came together for a high-energy Zumba dance session — a fun-filled moment that had everyone moving, laughing, and celebrating togetherness through music and movement.

And through music, one special song has come to represent the spirit of unity at Shrewsbury Bangkok City Campus — The Power in Me. This song reminds us to believe in ourselves and each other. Every time we sing it, we sing with strength and love for our community.
“I’ve got the power in me, you’ve got the power in you.
I’ve got the power, p-p-power, got the power in me!”
