Curiosity Drives Learning
SHC Article SHC Principal's Blog SHC TeacherOur Value of the Month for February was Curious.
Curiosity is a strong desire to learn, to explore and to understand. When someone is curious, they want to know more. They ask questions. They look deeper. They wonder why.
Curiosity is always a powerful attribute to have.

At Shrewsbury International School Bangkok City Campus, we see curiosity as the very heart of learning. It is where discovery begins. We actively encourage our pupils to be curious, and we celebrate their questions — no matter how big, small or unexpected they may be. Every question tells us something important: our children are thinking. They are making connections. They are engaged.
A classroom filled with questions is a classroom alive with learning.
Curiosity keeps us moving forward. It opens new doors and invites us to try new things. When children are curious, they take ownership of their learning journey. They become explorers rather than passive recipients of information.

As adults, we sometimes feel we should have the answers. But in truth, growth often begins with a question. By nurturing curiosity in our children, we equip them not only with knowledge, but with the confidence to seek understanding throughout their lives.
Let us continue to celebrate the wonder, imagination and inquisitive spirit that we see in our pupils every day. Curiosity supports learning — and more importantly, it drives it.
