A Month of Generosity
Our Spotlight SHC Article SHC Charity SHC Principle's BlogAs we reflect on our October value of the month—Kindness—I am deeply moved by the ways we actively put kindness into practice.
On World Food Day (16th October), we organised a food drive, inviting each student to donate a specific food item to our partner charity, Scholars of Sustenance (SOS Thailand), in support of their ‘Zero Hunger Mission.’

Value of the Month
“Kindness”
Our House Captains also took the initiative with our first House Charity Bake Sale, selling home-baked treats prepared by Year 6 students. Their efforts raised an incredible THB 70,000, with proceeds going towards tuition for our sponsored students at The Mechai Bamboo School.
House Charity Bake Sale & Donations for Flood Relief

In response to the recent severe floods in northern Thailand, one of our Year 6 students, Metta, initiated her own fundraising project outside of school. By baking homemade cookies and selling them to friends and family, Metta raised an astounding THB 50,000 for flood relief. Her generosity inspired our school community to further support the cause. Charitable donations sent in by students and their families on International Day of Peace raised an additional THB 40,000 to support flood victims, with donations directed through the Rotary Club of Bangkok’s disaster fund.

We also collaborate with Second Chance Bangkok, a charity that transforms our donated school uniforms into upcycled products. From hair scrunchies to pouches, it’s wonderful to see these items take on a new life, teaching our students about sustainability in a hands-on way.

Together, we are nurturing empathetic, kind-hearted individuals ready to contribute towards a kinder world.
These are just a few examples of how our community reaches beyond itself to make a difference, connecting our students to the wider world and the needs around them. Together, we are nurturing not only academically capable students but also empathetic, kind-hearted individuals ready to contribute towards a kinder world. My heartfelt thanks to everyone for embodying kindness in such meaningful ways.
