TERM 2 REVIEW 2019-20

VARSITY TEAMS IN BISAC ACTION

It was a huge weekend of sport for our varsity basketball, tennis and touch rugby sides who were all in action at the end of season BISAC tournament. There were a lot of positive results to come out of the competition as well as a lot to build on for our most senior athletes.

Perhaps the biggest result came courtesy of the Varsity Girls touch rugby team who finished 2nd to a determined ISB side by the tight margin of 2-0 in the final. Whilst victory may have eluded the girls this time around, it was by no means a failed endeavour as our girls are mostly 15 and 16 and therefore still have at least one more opportunity to play at this level. They will be better for the result and come back stronger when the next tournament rolls around.

Our boys’ tennis side also had a positive result as finished up as runners up in the plate competition. They did this without Cornell University-bound Patorn who is currently plying his trade at the Australian Open in Melbourne.

Our Basketballers played with a lot of heart but could not finish higher than 5th (girls) and 8th (boys). They will be looking to improve on these results before the next tournament, later in the year.

Outside of the BISAC results there was yet another fantastic result for Vicki who not only won the Faldo Series, Pattaya, finishing at 3 under par, but also secured her place at the Faldo Series Asian Final in Vietnam later in the year. Vicki seemed to inspire two other talented girls, Panghom and Alice who also posted respectable scores and will surely be golfers to watch in the future.

We now look forward to the Bangkok swim league which will be hosted this Tuesday at Shrewsbury and are hoping for some big results. Go Storm!
