FEMALE SPORTSPERSON OF THE YEAR

Jin, Shrewsbury’s Varsity captain for both Basketball and Softball has been at the School since EY1.

During her time at Shrewsbury, Jin has been involved with a wide range of sporting activities including Swimming, Netball and Athletics. A true team player, Jin has always been willing to step in when when there have not been enough numbers to have a match.

This was the first year that she has been involved in 11-side Football, showing she’s always up for a new sporting challenge, and is fully committed to the sporting opportunities and community here at Shrewsbury.

Jin, who currently is studying Business, Maths and IT at A-Level, will be attending Glion Institute of Higher Education to start her undergraduate course in Hospitality in September 2019. Her favourite sporting moment this year was on the Basketball court against ISB where she completed her most 3 pointers in one game.

She was very happy to win the award saying ‘I don’t believe that I am the best player; it’s not about how many hoops you score, a substitute can win this award. This award is about going the extra mile, attendance in training, helping the younger players and keeping team morale high. That is what Shrewsbury Sport is about.”
