We were very pleased to welcome back our friends from Farm de Lek last week, who introduced a whole menagerie of animals to our Early Years children.

Goats, pigs, hens, rabbits, ponies and ducks were amongst our animal guests. Children learnt about how to care for the animals, what they eat, how to make their habitat a comfortable place to be and how to handle them gently.

When they arrived the animals were extremely hungry, so the children got to feed them their breakfast, learning about the different sorts of food that they eat and how to give it to them safely. Unsurprisingly, it was the pigs who were the hungriest of all!

The visit was a wonderful experience and the children were very caring towards the animals. We really enjoyed singing songs and reading stories about life on the farm, and the visit has inspired us to learn lots more about animals.
