Individual and Team triumphs at FOBISIA Gymnastics Championships head this week's sports highlights

The big action from the weekend’s sport came from Bangkok Patana School, where the FOBISIA Gymnastics completion was held. Teams from all over South East Asia were represented which ensured that the meet was hugely competitive.

In the individual competition, Shrewsbury was expertly represented by Year 9 students Loogcliun (Level 4) and Anuv (Level 3) who both picked up overall gold medals.

Our boy’s teams also tasted success with several medals across all levels:

Senior Level 3 – 2nd Place

Senior Level 2 – 1st Place

Senior Level 1 – 2nd Place

Junior Level 1 – 3rd Place

Unfortunately, our girls were less successful this time but with the competition so strong, many lessons were learnt, and they will be back next time, more determined than ever.

In other sports news, the girls Shrewsbury Storm Touch Rugby side competed in a mini-tournament at ISB where they fell at the final hurdle against the hosts after playing a seriously attractive passing and running game throughout the day. It was a disappointment to miss out on the big prize, but our girls have not been together long and are already showing signs that a trophy is not far away.
