Sarute (Rute) Amnuayruangsri has been selected to perform as one of eight young singers with the Royal Bangkok Symphony Orchestra in the ‘Concert in the Park’ music event after taking part in the RBSO ‘Search for Talent’ competition.
The fifth edition of the contest saw more than 200 children, aged eight to eighteen upload video submissions for judges to consider. After shortlisting 39, the finalists were asked to perform live to narrow the field to the eventual eight.
Performing ‘You Will Be Back’ from the Broadway stage play, ‘Hamilton’, Rute says he was thrilled to be named as one of the performers selected to appear at the Concert in the Park at his third attempt.
“I love the thrill and challenge of performing on stage. Music, but specifically singing is my number one passion so to be recognised for my effort is a wonderful feeling” he said, enthusiastically.
Despite his success in the world of vocals, Rute is also a talented saxophone and piano player with a plan to switch to clarinet and work under new Shrewsbury Head of Brass and Woodwind, Mr Paul Archibald.
“It is great to work with a teacher who is so knowledgeable and kind. He has performed all over the world, and I want to learn everything I can from him”.
Before Rute attempts his switch to clarinet, however, he is in the midst of practising for the concert and ensuring he acquits himself well with the RBSO behind him. We wish him good luck!
