On Saturday 21st November students from Shrewsbury Gymnastics travelled to The Thai Canadian Community Sports Centre to take part in the Mini Moose Games. All of the students performed spectacularly throughout the day, replicating the fine work they are doing in practice.
The Level 2 Girls competition saw 14 students from Shrewsbury take home 39 gold medals, 14 silver medals and one bronze. Meanwhile, three students took part in the Level 3 girls competition where they were awarded ten gold and two silver medals.
Not to be outdone, the boys' competition also threw up some impressive results, with one student taking part in the Level 1 competition and being awarded a bronze, three silver and two gold medals. The Level 2 boys competition had five participants from our school with the excellent results continuing; 20 gold, eight silver and a bronze medal.
Teacher in charge of gymnastics, Ms Victoria Vittese, is in her first year at Shrewsbury and was thoroughly impressed with the effort and execution of the athletes.
"Congratulations to all of the students who took part in the Mini Moose Games. It was a hugely competitive event, and all athletes should have taken away some areas of improvement. It is also important to recognise our parent helpers for their continued support," she enthused.
