After an extensive global search, we are delighted to announce the appointment of Mr Steven Morris as Assistant Principal (Junior School) commencing August 2022. Mr Morris was the unanimous choice from a highly competitive field.
Mr Morris is an experienced leader and educator who has over 15 years of experience of Junior education, having entered the world of education following an initial career in law. Following completion of his Law degree at the University of Warwick and Justus-Liebig Universität, Gießen, Germany, and subsequent time as a solicitor, Mr Morris qualified as a teacher. Mr Morris holds a Masters Degree in Education and has taught in the UK and Germany. After time spent in the classroom and as an English lead, Mr Morris moved into senior leadership as Headteacher of a UK primary school.
Mr Morris currently holds the position of Deputy Head at Harrow International School Shanghai where he has a wide range of responsibilities including curriculum, pastoral care and the line management of staff from Early Years to Senior School.
The selection panel were impressed with Mr Morris’s commitment to education and the development of young people, coupled with his clear desire to continually strive for excellence in all areas of school life.

During the interview process, I was impressed by the school’s drive to deliver the highest academic standards, rich holistic opportunities and the genuine passion from its educators for exceptional pastoral care.
I am profoundly passionate about seeing children enjoy and excel in their learning; nurturing their confidence, curiosity, ambition and resilience and supporting each one to become empathetic, compassionate, kind individuals.

Mr Morris will arrive in Bangkok in early August, accompanied by his wife, Helen, who will be working as an EAL specialist, and his two daughters, Jessica (Year 7) and Pippa (Year 5).
