Students wow the audience in Shrewsbury's annual performing arts showcase
Fusion, Shrewsbury's unique blend of the performing arts, returned on Tuesday 21st May.
Now in its 9th year, Fusion is a firm favourite in the community calendar. The student-led event gives performers from across the Senior School a chance to collaborate in a variety of performing arts media, all of their own choosing; ranging from music and poetry, to comedy and dance.
Hosted in Shrewsbury's 590 seat auditorium, this year's event produced a series of big performances, and as usual, uncovered some hitherto hidden talents.
Principal, Chris Seal, commented; "The audience had a real treat tonight. It was a real showcase of what Shrewsbury is all about; exceptional students working together, and seizing the opportunity to explore their interests and to shine on stage."
He continued, "Not only will the rest of the audience, like me, have gone away feeling thoroughly entertained, but the performers themselves will have taken away so much more; a sense of deserved confidence and pride in their talents, and, I hope, a sense that they have inspired those around them to find and express their creative potential too. Bring on Fusion 10!"
