Recently we discovered a great piece of news from Year 12 archery ace, Pim, who produced an amazing performance at the 2020 Asia Cup World Ranking Tournament in March. During the week-long competition, Pim was the second highest scoring female in the Thai team, and her performance helped Thailand to bronze medal position; her very first competitive medal.
Pim earned her place at the Asia Cup following a successful qualification tournament back in early February. After shooting 144 arrows in hot and humid conditions against the country’s best archers, Pim finished amongst the top 4 female competitors. Making the team for the Asia cup was a huge confidence boost for Pim, who has quickly established herself amongst the sport’s elite.
“The Asia Cup was an incredible week. There were some amazing archers from all over Asia including India, Kazakhstan, Vietnam, Iran and Russia so I had to be at my best”.
Still at the early stages of her competitive career, Pim knows she has plenty of room for improvement and is keen to get straight back to practice as soon as possible.
“It was an honor to be representing Thailand in this huge event and I have to thank the Sports Authority of Thailand and their initiative, the Sports Hero Program. They support and encourage many young athletes around the country and I am grateful to be one of them.”
Pim also is grateful for the support of the staff at Shrewsbury for giving her time to compete at the highest level.
