The Rolling Pinn, a popular bakery known for its exquisite and visually stunning cakes, has captured the hearts of dessert lovers in Bangkok. At the heart of this success is Pinn Janvatanavit, a Shrewsbury International School Bangkok Riverside alumna from the class of 2014. Her passion for baking and artistic creativity led her to establish The Rolling Pinn, turning her childhood dream into reality.

From a young age, Pinn had a love for baking, starting at just 11 years old. During her school years, she participated in bake sales, sharing her sweet creations with classmates. Encouraged by friends at 16, she took her first entrepreneurial step by launching a summer cupcake project, selling homemade cupcakes and cookies to friends and family. This experience sparked her ambition to open her own bakery.

Since its launch six years ago, The Rolling Pinn has grown into a successful brand, though the journey has not been without challenges. Pinn reflects on the demanding nature of running a business, often working from 7 am to 3 am for months at a time. She emphasises that success requires hard work, perseverance, and effective delegation to keep operations running smoothly.

Today, The Rolling Pinn has expanded to four branches and sells approximately 700 cakes daily. Among its many successful products, the signature Dubai Chocolate stands out as a bestseller, with an impressive 130,000 pieces sold in 2024 alone. The bakery also offers seasonal collections, such as the Christmas-themed Let It Snow & Ribbon Wonderland Cake Collection 2024, along with custom cakes for special occasions.

Looking ahead, Pinn envisions The Rolling Pinn as a market leader and trendsetter in the baking industry. She acknowledges the importance of influencer collaborations in boosting brand recognition and customer engagement.

Her journey serves as an inspiration to aspiring bakers and entrepreneurs. Pinn’s advice to those looking to start their own business is simple yet powerful: success does not come easily, but with passion, dedication, and perseverance, anything is possible.
