At Shrewsbury International School Bangkok Riverside, wellbeing and respect are central to student life. Ms. Sarah Newman, our Head of Student Wellbeing and Personal Development in Junior School, is a driving force, dedicated to creating an environment where every child feels valued, supported, and ready to grow both academically and personally.

Ms. Newman’s commitment is built on almost 20 years of experience in diverse teaching and leadership roles within schools, including nine years at Shrewsbury Bangkok Riverside. She is extremely passionate that all students are individuals and should flourish in a caring and respectful environment, working closely with students, staff, and parents to nurture confidence, resilience, and a strong sense of belonging across our community.

The Junior Respect Week encouraged students to explore what respect means in their classrooms, on the playgrounds, and at home. Students gained a deeper understanding of how kindness, inclusivity, and understanding contribute to the formation of positive relationships through themed lessons and activities. Our student leaders, including House Captains and Head of School, also played a key role during Respect Week, organising and leading lunchtime activities. The week powerfully demonstrated that small acts of respect contribute to a vibrant culture where everyone at Shrewsbury Bangkok Riverside can flourish.
