We’re excited to announce that the Music Department has received a complete set of Roland AIRA Compact electronic music equipment, on a free loan by Roland and https://musicalfuturesinternational.org/. This cutting-edge technology will be with us for the rest of the term, offering students across various year groups new ways to explore, compose, and perform music. Afterward, the set will remain in Bangkok to be shared among local schools, with opportunities for us to borrow it again in the future as part of this exciting regional initiative.

During Year 7 KS3 Music lessons, students will have the opportunity to explore these devices to make music. By the end of term, they will have created a short electronic composition. Our A Level Music Technology students were the first ones to try out the equipment before going on study leave. After their exams, they will be using it to learn more about how electronic sounds are made, how to create their own sounds, and to get ready for university-level Music Technology courses.
