We’re thrilled to congratulate Coco (Year 13, Class of 2025) on her offer to study Film and Media Studies at Wesleyan University, Connecticut, a top destination for aspiring filmmakers.
Her journey is a wonderful example of Shrewsbury’s holistic education, where students are encouraged to explore their interests, express their creativity, and pursue personalised pathways to success.

A Passion for Film, Discovered and Developed
From a young age, Coco was drawn to the magic of film captivated by visuals and storytelling even before understanding the dialogue. At Shrewsbury, that passion was nurtured through opportunities in Drama, school productions, and creative projects, helping her find confidence and direction.
“It all came together when I realised Film combines everything I love writing, acting, visuals, even marketing,” she shares.
A Personalised Pathway in Action
With guidance from teachers and access to a broad curriculum, Coco was able to shape her own path, one that reflects both her talents and ambitions. Shrewsbury’s commitment to personalised learning allowed her to grow as a storyteller and prepare for a future in the creative industries.
“The support I’ve received here helped me believe that a career in the arts was truly possible,” Coco says.
Looking Ahead
As she prepares to join Wesleyan’s vibrant creative community, Coco is excited to collaborate, learn, and bring stories to life on screen. And wherever her journey takes her, she’ll carry the confidence, creativity, and curiosity shaped by her time at Shrewsbury.
Congratulations, Coco, we can’t wait to see where your storytelling takes you next!
