Mrs. Sarah Canning-Jones is an international corporate and commercial lawyer at the leading international law firm, Allen & Overy and is based in London. She is also the parent of two alumni of the school.

She is the Managing Director of Global Training and Consultancy which trains in all aspects of regulatory compliance. Carla is Chair of the International Development Committee of Shrewsbury School Board of Governors in the UK.”

A Business and Legal Studies graduate from University College Dublin, Mrs Gráinne Walters is a partner and head of the Corporate and Commercial Department at Lanyon Bowdler LLP, a law firm with its head office in Shrewsbury, UK. Gráinne is a corporate and commercial lawyer specialising in mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures and commercial work.

She is also a Director of City Realty Co., Ltd. and Chatrium Hotels and Residences. She received a Master Degree in Business Administration from Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University, USA.

A world leader in complex spinal surgery, Dr. Wattana Mahattanakul has a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery and Neuroscience degrees with first-class honours at the Faculty of Medicine, University of London, UK. Dr. Mahattanakul has completed a spinal fellowship at the James Cook University Hospital, Middlesbrough, UK, and a masters degree in vascular brain surgery at the Macquarie University, in Sydney, Australia. He is currently a practising neurosurgeon and spine surgeon at Ramathibodi and Bumrungrad hospitals, Bangkok, Thailand.

Dr. Jirayuth Mahattanakul has been Shrewsbury Bangkok Riverside’s School Manager since the school’s inception in 2003. A graduate of Imperial College London, Dr Mahattanakul also serves on the International Schools of Thailand board as Vice President and Membership and Operation Co-chair. Dr. Mahattanakul was royally appointed as a Professor of Engineering in 2011 and was on the executive committee of the Engineering Institute of Thailand under the King’s patronage.

Dr. Kanokwan Wongwatanasin holds the honour of the first person to receive a doctorate in the internet-related field of Computer and Engineering Management from Assumption University, Thailand. Dr Wongwatanasin is the co-founder of the KSC Commercial Internet Company and is the CEO of IP Payment Solutions. In addition, Dr. Wongwatanasin has served as Director of Kanchanaburi Sugar Mill, Director of Thai Sugar Trading Co., Ltd. and Director of the Trade Association of Sugar Producers.

Mr. David Roberts is a Chartered Accountant and a founding Governor of Shrewsbury International School Bangkok. David currently serves as an independent director of Asia Plus Group Holdings PCL. He was previously a Managing Director of Hoare Govett Asia. Before this, he was employed by Citibank and previously by Gulf Oil Corporation. David was for several years a Council Member of the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong and a member of the Stock Exchange Listing Committee. He was also a member of the Securities and Futures Commission’s Compensation Fund. David has served on the board of one of Hong Kong’s major hospitals. In addition, David has held non-executive directorship on the boards of several fund management companies and publicly listed country funds.

Khun Tanika Panyarachun holds a masters from Harvard University Graduate School of Education. She is a well-renowned child and adolescent counsellor at the ‘Little Sprouts Children’s Centre’ in Bangkok and is an author whose work has been published in the Washington Post. Khun Tanika also provides consultation concerning mental health and child psychology for school and non profit organisations and at major hospitals in Bangkok.

Earning her Doctor of Philosophy in Comparative and International Education from Columbia University, New York, USA. Dr. Parita Suaphan is now an adjunct faculty member at the School of Global Study, Thammasat University, Bangkok, Thailand. The co-founder of the mobile application Bootcampdemy, Dr. Suaphan, also serves as the CEO of the technology company Gantik and Vice President of product development at Aimphan Press Co., Ltd., Thailand.

Khun Siriporn Sophonpanich is an alumni of the school and is currently working at City Realty Co., Ltd. as the Assistant Vice President, taking special oversight of the company’s design and construction projects. She received her Masters of Science in Urban Planning from Columbia University, New York and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in History of Art and Architecture from Brown University, USA. Before moving back to Bangkok, she worked in the non-profit organisation sector in New York, USA.
