Alumni Opens New Store on Charoenkrung This Week
Alumni Exceptional People Outstanding Opportunities SHR Article SHR Upcoming eventIn a world where the traditional academic route is often seen as the gold standard for success, Pete, a member of our school’s Alumni Association (SISBAA), stands as a testament to the diverse paths that lead to success.
Graduating in 2022, Pete completed part of his studies during the pandemic, which led him to discover new passions that eventually inspired him to start his first business venture. Pete is now a proud owner of the coffee shop, Ve/la along with other brands under The Apostofi Group and in just two days, on Wednesday 10th October 2024, he will open another store on Charoenkrung Road.
Pete also manages many other brands under The Apostofi Group including but not limited to, Apostofi House and Apostofi Restaurants. The Apostofi Group, “crafted for the curious,” is a group that prioritises its customers by creating bespoke products and services that are unique to them while hoping to “bring people closer together like the good old times.”
On Tuesday 10th September, the school reconnected with its alumni at The Apostofi Group’s annual keynote conference, held at EM Glass, The Emsphere. The conference included speakers from partnering brands such as Reggu, some of whom spoke about the reasons behind their partnering and the visions for the future ahead. Pete has partnered with brands like Unilever, Diptyque, SOHO House and Four Seasons, while other partnerships are deliberately kept unknown. With the exact location to be confirmed, Pete announced that he will expand further and open his first worldwide store in London, next Spring 2025.
At Shrewsbury Riverside, our Sixth Form offers a tailored approach to student support and guidance. From daily check-ins with form tutors to meetings with Higher Education counsellors, we provide numerous opportunities for students to explore a vast range of options and make decisions about their future based on what suits them best.
Pete’s former tutor, Mr Zikic, recalls Pete facing “tough decisions to balance his education and business” as The Apostofi Group expanded rapidly during his time at school. Mr Zikic noted that upon leaving Shrewsbury Riverside, Pete chose to fully commit to his business, with the option to return to education later in life should he wish to.
For current students at Shrewsbury International School Bangkok, Riverside, Pete exemplifies that success is not confined to one path and that with the right attitude and values, anything is possible.
We always look forward to the stories of our alumni, whether those are stories of successful entrepreneurship or updates on general life events. To submit your story, please email Khun Nitchawee Peeraamornkait at alumni@shrewsbury.ac.th.
