“Learning at Shrewsbury provided me with a global perspective of the world, which I will undoubtedly use for the rest of my life. Whether through learning about global affairs and understanding world politics (which has inspired me to study Philosophy, Politics and Economics at university), or meeting a diverse group of people with different experiences, the Shrewsbury community has widened my perspective on many topics. At Shrewsbury, I’ve also been encouraged to step up and take leadership roles, and the school has helped shape me as a leader. The amazing experiences I have had in the roles of House Captain and Head of School have helped me build a better understanding of what it means to be a good leader, which I will hopefully be able to apply in the future.
My favourite thing about studying at Shrewsbury is the community that I am surrounded by. Teachers here are very encouraging and the majority of them strive to understand students as individuals outside of grades or academic ability. I have been able to confide in and talk to many of my teachers, and they are a great source of support. My friends at Shrewsbury are also incredibly amazing, and I have had the privilege of getting to know people from different year groups who make me feel fluffy and warm inside. Overall, the community here is one where I truly feel a sense of belonging.”
