Virtual Library sleepovers hosted by City Campus & Riverside.
Who doesn't love curling up with a book at the end of a busy day?
Shrewsbury students certainly do, as shown by the 150 students from City Campus and Riverside joined the Library teams on Zoom for a set of fun and memorable Virtual Library Sleepovers
Children from both Shrewsbury Bangkok campuses were invited to get cosy at home with their favourite toys, and enjoyed stories, songs and activities, all led by our fantastic Library teams.
These virtual events take place before bed-time, to encourage the hugely beneficial family habit of reading together before bed. All sessions are age-specific, allowing the Library staff to focus on children’s interests and help them interacting with different themes.
Mr Patrick Durkan, School Librarian shared: "The first sleepover event was such a success that we decided to have them more regularly. The students enjoyed being part of this cross-campus event and we got some lovely feedback from families. The highlights included telling the story of ‘The Shrewsbury Ghost’ with Year 5 & 6, doing virtual bedtime yoga with Early Years, Year 1 & Year 2, and even discussing sleepovers with the student’s soft toys from Years 3 & 4. A wonderful experience for all involved."
