Year 4 design Rube Goldberg machines.
Need to feed your dog, turn on your fan, or make yourself some breakfast? Year 4 have got you covered.
To make life at home that little bit easier, Year 4 have been building machines which are designed to help with day-to-day chores.
Year 4 Teacher Ms Tait inspired students with the work of Rube Goldberg, an engineer known for creating cause-and-effect gadgets that are very satisfying to watch.
Students were tasked with making their own Rube Goldberg machines, which had to include a drop, movement round corners, more than one rolling object, and motion from a low to a high height. The machine had to begin with one single action, which would cause a knock-on effect for the remaining components, resulting in a finished outcome.
With the help of parents, siblings and pets, students produced some extremely innovative and useful contraptions. They then used iMovie to present their results.
