Safeguarding and student wellbeing are central to the care we provide at Shrewsbury International School Bangkok Riverside. On 11 September 2026, safeguarding professionals from international schools across Thailand came together for the inaugural Thai-Speaking DSL/DDSL Child Protection Network, bringing practitioners together to share expertise, discuss good practice and strengthen professional connections.

The meeting provided an opportunity for Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSLs), Deputy Designated Safeguarding Leads (DDSLs) and other safeguarding professionals to exchange knowledge and consider approaches to safeguarding within the international school context.
As part of the programme, Ms Chanonporn, Pastoral Support Advisor in Shrewsbury’s Wellbeing Team, led a session exploring KCSIE 2026 (Keeping Children Safe in Education) alongside Thailand’s Child Protection Act. The discussion considered how these frameworks can inform effective safeguarding practice within the Thai international school context.

The meeting reflects the importance of ongoing professional learning and collaboration in safeguarding. By sharing knowledge and strengthening connections between practitioners, schools can continue to build cultures of safety, care and wellbeing that support every student.
